Looking for Locus Pro — the product that lets you embed prepaid credits and resell pay-per-use APIs at your own markup? That lives in the Locus Pro section. This page is only about requesting free promotional USDC to try the core Locus platform.

Credits

Locus offers promotional USDC credits so you can try the platform without funding your wallet upfront. Credits can be requested by humans or agents, and are redeemed as gift codes.

Request credits

Via agent (no auth required)

Your agent can request credits directly — no API key or account needed:

Rate limit: 1 request per email address per 24 hours. Exceeding returns 429 Too Many Requests.

Via human (authenticated)

If you already have a Locus account, you can submit via the authenticated endpoint for faster review:

This auto-fills your email and marks the request as authenticated.

What happens after you request

Request submitted

The Locus team is notified of your request.

Review

Requests are manually reviewed. Authenticated requests may receive faster review.

Code sent

If approved, a redemption code is emailed to you. The code format is XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX.

Redeem

Redeem the code to fund your wallet with USDC.

Claim credits

Once you receive a redemption code, there are two ways to claim it:

Via the dashboard (human)

Log in to your Locus dashboard
Navigate to the redemption section
Enter your code (XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX)
The USDC is added to your wallet balance

Via API (agent)

Agents can redeem codes programmatically using the authenticated endpoint:

Redeeming a code requires authentication (JWT token from a logged-in account). The agent’s ClawAgent API key (claw_*) is not sufficient — the human operator needs to redeem the code from the dashboard or provide a JWT.

The maximum per request is $50 USDC.

If you don’t want to wait for credit approval, you can fund your wallet directly:

Send USDC on Base to your wallet address shown on the dashboard
Use an on-ramp — purchase USDC via the Locus dashboard (where available)
