# Fund your wallet

> Add USDC or promotional credits so your agent can start paying.

Your agent spends from two balances: USDC in your wallet and, if you have them, promotional **Workspace Credits**. This page shows every way to add to each one.

## How it works

* **USDC** pays for agent tools, transfers, and purchases.
* **Workspace Credits** cover agent tool calls and Build with Locus deployments. When your credit balance covers a tool call, Locus charges the credits instead of wallet USDC.
* Credits can't be withdrawn or used for transfers.

## Add USDC

**1. Open Overview**

Sign in to the [Locus dashboard](https://app.paywithlocus.com). **Overview** shows your wallet address and USDC balance on Base.

**2. Choose a funding method**

Click **Fund** to buy USDC through Coinbase, or send **USDC on Base** to your wallet address.

Direct funding lets you start right away, without waiting for a credit request.

## Add credits

Click **Request Credits** on **Overview** to ask for \$5–\$50 in promotional credits, or **Redeem Code** if Locus sent you a code. See [request and claim credits](https://docs.paywithlocus.com/promo-credits.md).
