# Send USDC by email

> Pay someone by email and let them claim the USDC to a wallet of their choice.

Send USDC to anyone with an email address, even if they don't have a wallet yet. Locus holds the funds until the recipient claims them, and returns them to you if nobody does.

> Agents: the exact instructions for this are at [https://paywithlocus.com/wallet/skill.md](https://paywithlocus.com/wallet/skill.md). Start from [https://paywithlocus.com/agent/index.md](https://paywithlocus.com/agent/index.md) if you are not sure which Locus product you need.

## How it works

  participant R as Recipient

  else Deadline passes

  end
```
**1. You send**
Send USDC to an email address from the dashboard, or ask your agent to.
**2. Locus holds the funds**
Locus moves the funds into a separate subwallet with its own on-chain address.
**3. The recipient gets an email**
The email includes a one-time password.
**4. The recipient claims**
They claim the funds to a wallet address of their choosing.
## Key facts
* The claim deadline is 30 days by default, and up to 365 days.
* If the recipient doesn't claim by the deadline, the funds return to your wallet.
* Claimed subwallets go back to a reuse pool for future payments.
* Your agent's [spending limits](https://docs.paywithlocus.com/spending-controls.md) apply to email sends.
